Two girls Texas wishes it never met

There mention of their names stirs memories of flooding, property damage, and deaths. First, there was Hurricane Carla, a Category 4 storm that devastated southeast Texas, a storm so powerful it set the standard by which we still judge storms. Then, Tropical Storm Allison in 2001, a system that created the flood of a lifetime.

Tim Heller, KTRH-TV/Channel 13’s meteorolgist prepared a special remembering those two storms as we enter into the early days of this year’s hurricane season. Here’s the first of four segments:
