Sometimes it’s a storm. Sometimes it’s an aging grid. And, sometimes the price of progress is being plunged into the dark. That’s what happened in east Houston recently, according to KHOU-TV. Construction of the new light rail line necessitated pulling the plug on entire neighborhoods during morning wake-up hours. Thanks to weather and project scheduling issues, however, more outages have been postponed.
According to KRIV-TV/Fox 26, Metro will give advance warning of the outages in the form of notes on front doors 72 hours in advance. The outages are expected to continue daily for a week once they begin.
Whether it’s weather, or equipment, or the result of construction, loss of power is a major life disruption. How ready are you to sit in the dark and wait for the lights to come back on?
